I always have a pot of chives and parsley growing close by the kitchen window. They keep coming up year after year. Always handy when you need them for cooking. There is also a raspberry plant given to me by a friend and another plant which she says is a blueberry. I am not convinced about the blueberry. They need planting out when I find a suitable place.
The garden is really springing into life now. The raspberry bushes are showing good promise.
These tomato plants were sent to me by a man who works with Niall. He (the man) is a very keen gardener. I am still deciding where to plant them.
These pots have a bit of a mixture growing in them. On the left are some fruit bushes which seeded themselves last year. I am not sure yet exactly what I have. It may be raspberry or redcurrant - I will need to wait and see. On the right are beetroot seedlings and one lettuce plant. I was trying out some old seed I had and only one lettuce came up!
These are my potatoes - I have three full ridges of them this year. Some are Red Duke of York variety and the others are Kerrs Pinks.
The rhubarb plants are coming on well now. I have already cut my first young rhubarb and made a pie.
These are shallots. I see one onion set sneaked its way in amongst them.
I planted these lettuces just yesterday evening so they still need time to pick themselves up.
I am growing some leeks in this large terracotta pot.
These strawberry plants are looking as if they are going to do better this year.I'm sure Jen is having fun watching the progress in her new veggie patch.
